This edition of the blog was actually written on Wednesday but I was waiting for pictures and just got it together...enjoy!!


We are moving over to Ramstein TLF today.  We will hopefully only be there a week before we move into the house....that's right, we have found a place to call home!!   We decided to take the one in Spesbach.  The only thumbs down was the internet situation, but the landlord, Horst, is really willing to work it out with us and so we feel confident we will have some type of working internet ( it may just be a few weeks or so before it's up and running).  


The house is in a small village about ten minutes west of Ramstein AFB and sits just about two blocks from the village's main street.  We all really preferred living in the village to living out by ourself or in a big americanized neighborhood.  It has two bakeries, a meat market, and a small grocery store called the Netto. 

The house is a duplex and a single german lady lives on the other side.  We share a big backyard with some apple trees. Behind us is a german family with two teenagers.  And our landlord and his wife, Horst and Jutta, who are about our age,  live just around the corner.  There are two other LDS families in the village, one of them has a teenage son who is friends with Travis already! 

I will post pictures as soon as I get some taken, but I will try to describe it:   Two stories with a basement.  The front stoop is literally 5 feet from the road in front.  The road is only big enough for one car at a time.  There is a small but typical kitchen to the right as you walk in the front door and a small 1/2 bath on the left.  The rest of this floor is all open and is the great room and dining room.  It's big, with lots of windows and light.  It has  a small wood burning fireplace in the corner.  Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a large bathroom...no closets of course!  Downstairs is a large room that will be TJ's bedroom and hang out room and then there is a laundry, a big storage room or small bedroom and another nice full bathroom.  We think the lay out is perfect!  It sounds big, but it's really not...the rooms are not like the states and there are no closets so lots of room is taken up by the schranks (shrunks)  which are armoires that they use for closets. 
The backyard has a nice yard and two or three apple trees and a shed for storage. 


We truly feel that once again we have been treated one of our Father's tender mercies in finding this house.  The last two days the housing office had only one house for us to go see.  There is really almost nothing out there unless it is thirty to forty minutes away or very, very old and creepy.  To have the Jensens just walk up to us in church and say "would you be interested in our house, we are leaving in two weeks"  was just more than a coincidence.  I know we are being helped and watched over.
