We had a "Hail and Farewell" party. That's a military tradition that has carried over to our military ward here at Ramstein. Our ward is going through a big PCS (permanent change of station) season right now. We have about 15 families that are or have been moving out of the area and will have probably about that many move in over the course of the summer. It's a sad time and we just dread having to say good-bye to so many friends. But then, that's the good thing! We have so many more friends to keep in touch with and to visit when we cross paths again in the future.

It's a great house with a huge back yard that makes it a perfect place for a ward barbeque.
There was lots of eating, jumping on the tramp, ultimate frisbee, basketball, even a card game or two. And there was lots of visiting with friends...old and new!

The other event that took place this week was Travis' Eagle Scout Project: Shoes for Kyrgyzstan. He organized a shoe drive to collect shoes for an orphanage there. He worked it through the Chaplain's office on base. The Chaplain said most of the kids there had never had shoes and the winters are very cold.

Today was Father's Day and we had a great day at church, relaxing and then having friends over to Sunday dinner. The kids all called Mike to wish him a Happy Father's Day, which really did make his day. He loves his kids and he's just a marshmallow when it comes to each one of them.

Have a great day and be sure to tell all the dads in your life how much they mean to you!
love and miss you all,
